About This Project
GDP was contracted by Knight Frank to remove the existing non- compliant cladding & supply& install AS153.01 code compliant cladding. Works included the removal, disconnection and reconnection of 2 large signs, one being the famous channel 9 sign. Given all works were performed in a “Live Environment” GDP managed all building access, Traffic management & footpath operations as to best reduce the impact on 717 Bourke St.
No Australian stock was available in the giant sizing required, and as a result, GDP procured the compliant cladding from abroad. This lead to the extreme effort being placed on color & size. There was simply no room for error. The client’s direction was to complete the project in 10 weeks, being the week before Christmas. GDP achieved practical completion, free of defects, on the 5th of December.
